Sugar Land, TX is a city located in Fort Bend county of the State of Texas.
The population of Sugar Land in 2014 was estimated at 86,777 and was considered one of the fasted growing cities throughout the 1990's in the nation.
The Kempner family of Galveston, in 1906 Isaac H. Kempner along with William T. Eldridge, made a purchase of a 5,300-acre location called the Ellis Plantation. This was only one of few plantations that existed in Fort Bend County that did survive after the Civil War. Then in 1908, they purchased an adjoining 12,500-acre plot which was called the Cunningham Plantation. On this plantation was a raw-sugar mill and the cane-sugar refinery. The men adopted the name of Imperial Sugar Company. The town owned by the Sugar Company began to grow and prosper.
The town and it's people started building schools and companies began to thrive. Sugar Land, TX has had many accomplishments over the years since it was formed. In 2003 it became a "principal" city in the Houston metro area and had replaced Galveston as the second most important city after Houston. Sugar Land has grown quickly along with its businesses and residences of the area.

Entertainment is plenty in Sugar Land with the Smart Financial Centre holding many venues from concerts to comedy acts.
