Is it permanent?
No, a pigment is used instead of permanent ink, which will diminish over time and will last from one to three years. Touch-ups will be required to maintain the appearance which will be advised by the technician, based on skin type and age. Since it is not a permanent treatment it will fade over time.
How is microblading performed?
A small blade is used to insert the ink and tattoo the area of the eyebrows which needs fullness and will be shaped as desired. With this tool, small hair-like strokes will be drawn within the eyebrows to make them appear fuller and well-shaped.
Does the procedure hurt?
A numbing cream is applied to the area before the procedure to minimize discomfort.
How long does the procedure take?
Usual time is between 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
What is the difference between microblading and tattooing of the eyebrows, eye lids or lips?
Microblading uses pigment and a tool with a small blade is used to apply the pigment to the (epidermal) outer layers of the skin and may fade within 12 to 36 months. A tattoo uses ink and it is inserted deeper into the skin and is considered a permanent procedure.
