Skin Rejuvination

Laser Skin Resurfacing Or Skin Rejuvenation

Laser rejuvination or resurfacing is one of the best methods of treating a variety of skin challenges. These can include prolonged sun exposure, wrinkles, acne scarring, and “dull” complexion.

Laser skin resurfacing can reduce visible skin wrinkling by over 50% and is considered one of the best and most effective skin resurfacing procedure available today. Patients can expect to see dramatic improvement in wrinkles, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and general skin texture. As an added bonus, firming and tightening of the skin are seen as a result of the heat produced by the laser treatment, giving a slight lift effect.

Laser skin resurfacing can also be used to treat acne scars. Most patients can achieve a full 50% improvement in acne scarring after treatment. Patients with fair skin achieve the most natural results from laser skin resurfacing. Patients with deep to dark skin tones are not good candidates for laser skin resurfacing, as the strength of the laser can overly reduce normal pigmentation.

Laser skin resurfacing is painless, as patients undergo general anesthesia. However, the healing process can take up to two weeks, and skin will appear “flushed” or pinkish for some weeks afterward. Patients are advised to avoid prolonged sun exposure or to use a sunblock of at least SPF 30 during this time.

Acne Laser Treatment

Acne Treatments With Lasers Is An Effective And Non-Invasive Treatment For Acne Problems.
Acne Does Affect Many People And Can Affect Their Daily Lives And An Effective Treatment Is With Lasers.
Effective Alternative To Daily Pills And Creams
Until recently, patients with persistent, moderate acne have been treated with only topical or sometimes systemic antibiotics. Recent studies have demonstrated, however, that laser therapy can trigger endogenic porphyrins that naturally destroy P. acnes bacteria. When the lasers excite the porphyrins, the porphyrins damage the bacteria wall, effectively killing the bacteria. Less acne bacteria should help reduce symptoms of acne. Laser treatment may also reduce sebum (skin oil) levels.

Laser Nail Fungus Treatment

Laser toenail fungus treatments

Laser Nail Fungus Treatment Is A Non-Invasive Procedure Used To Treat Nail Fungus.

Onychomycosis or Tinea Unguium is the medical term for fungal infection of the nail or the nail plate. Onychomycosis infections cause nails to become thick, discolored, and unsightly. Elite Doc Health and Beauty can eliminate your nail infection and help your nails regain their clarity. Laser devices emit pulses of energy that impart heat to tissues that it contacts. The laser therapy works by utilizing a specific wavelength of light that passes through the nail and the surrounding tissue. The light is absorbed by pigment in the fungi, which causes it to heat and kill or damage the fungal organism.

The laser treatment does not harm healthy tissue, and most patients do not report any discomfort either during or after the procedure, so no anesthesia is needed. The staff at Elite Doc Health and Beauty are experienced in treatment of nail fungus of the toe nails and finger nails.

Treatments are repeated approximately every 90 days until the infection is cured. Nails are debrided prior to the first treatment and will be debrided six weeks following each laser therapy. Patients are prescribed a topical antifungal medication that should be applied to the nails daily. It usually takes six to nine months to totally cure nails.

Tattoo Removal

Tattoo Removal Is Now Available With Laser Technology.

Getting rid of unwanted tattoos used to be an impossible task. Now laser technology has made the impossible not only possible, but simple safe and effective.

How Laser Tattoo Removal Works?

A concentrated beam of light passes harmlessly through the outer layer of skin, focusing on the tattoo’s ink instead of skin cells. The ink is super-heated by the laser, causing it to fragment into tiny particles of pigment that no longer have the ability to remain in place. The body’s lymphatic system carries the resultant particles away from the tattoo site, thereby eliminating the color that formed the tattoo. This procedure is gentle enough to leave the patient with minimal scarring or changes in skin pigmentation.

Not all types of tattoos will respond well to laser treatments. Some colors will take more treatments than others, though in general most tattoos can be effectively treated. The chemical composition of the ink as well as the tattoo’s depth beneath the skin and age of the tattoo can also affect the efficacy of the laser. The ink colors that are most readily easily treated are red, black, dark blue, brown, and yellow. Some colors, like sky blue, turquoise, purple and green, can be treated with moderate success, although incomplete resolution is a high risk.
Because the laser focuses on the tattoo ink rather than skin tissue, patient discomfort is minimal. The slight pain associated with the heat caused by the laser has been compared to an insect sting or the “snap” of a rubber band. A local anesthetic and a cooling device can be used at the patient’s request.
Most treatments take anywhere from ten to thirty minutes at a time, depending on the size and location of the tattoo. If the tattoo is very faint, it may disappear after one treatment, though most tattoos take five or more treatments to fade completely. The treatments are generally scheduled six to eight weeks apart to allow the body enough time to fully eliminate the pigment fragments.
