Botox Wrinkle Treatments Explained By, Dr. Naz Keshwani.

Everyone Should Know What Is Involved With Having Botox Treatments To Smooth And Relax Wrinkles On Your Face And Neck.

Botox is for smoothing and reducing wrinkles on both men or women’s face and neck. Wrinkles on your face and neck can be diminished by injections in specific areas.

What is BOTOX®?

It is a natural product called onabotulinumtoxinA, formulated as a cosmetic neurotoxin, injected into the muscles to relax them. This treatment will help in smoothing away unwanted lines and relaxing wrinkles. Wrinkles become more pronounced with sun damage and the natural aging process. Botox helps to turn back the effects of aging in the appearance of wrinkles on your skin.

Where are the Botox Treatment Areas?

To help relax the muscles and smooth away wrinkles, Botox is injected at specific areas on the facial and neck muscles. Depending on your facial lines, wrinkles and skin texture, the areas of injections can be along any of the following areas.

  • Forehead area to smooth horizontal lines across the area.
  • Between the eyebrows to help in smoothing the wrinkles.
  • Outside areas of the eyes frequently known as the “crow’s feet”
  • Down the nose area known as “bunny lines”
  • Along the edges of the lips to lift the smile.
  • Along the chin to relieve the muscle that cause chin dimpling.
  • On the neck muscles to reduce the lines caused by aging.

How much Botox will I need?

An experienced Injector will determine the correct amount of Botox in each of the areas, depending on the wrinkles and your skin texture. Only an experienced Botox injector will administer Botox treatments.

Specific Detailed areas and how much Botox is usually administered.

What happens during the procedure?

During the procedure, your injector will advise you of each area Botox is being injected. Cold air will be applied on your face or neck during the procedure, to minimize discomfort. Your muscles will begin to relax, allowing your skin to smooth and wrinkles to diminish. After the procedure, cold packs are applied to the injection areas to minimize swelling or bruising. The procedure will take from 5 to 45 minutes depending on the amount of areas being treated.  Some patients may experience a slight temporary bruising at the injections sites. They can be covered easily with makeup. If you have any further questions about the wrinkle treatments with Botox please ask Dr. Keshwani or one of our staff.
